During Covid-19 we will no longer be meeting in person. We will be holding our rehearsals and classes online via Zoom while we closely follow the recommendations of the CDC and the San Mateo County Health Department for the most up-to-date factual information. While we’re online, singers will be meeting for a shorter amount of time twice a week instead of our regular once a week longer in person rehearsal. They will meet once a week for their core choir rehearsal and once a week for their musicianship class. Our top priority and commitment is to keep every singer safe, while still giving her as many of the opportunities to grow and learn as possible. We will build musical aptitude as well as focus on community and relationship building. This will look different than it has in the past, but there are many undiscovered new and exciting skills we will discover as we're stretched to think outside of the typical rehearsal box.
For more information regarding our online PGC rehearsals/classes, please contact our Chorus Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org
All choirs, except PGC Coastside, rehearse at the Burlingame United Methodist Church, 1443 Howard Ave., Burlingame.
PGC Coastside meets at Hatch Elementary School, 490 Miramontes Ave., Half Moon Bay.
All sections of a chorus cover the same repertoire and material. The reason for having multiple meetings is to offer alternative rehearsal periods and to accommodate the large number of girls who wish to sing with us.
Tuition for the year is $1400, plus a one-time $140 registration fee, due upon joining. Siblings pay a reduced rate of $1350. Families purchase their own uniforms, which cost on average $50-$75. Tuition Assistance is available for qualified families, pending Board approval.
Girls can audition as young as 6 years old, providing they are able to read simple lyrics and can focus for a 90-minute rehearsal.
The performing groups have toured extensively. Please see our website under “concerts” for a listing of our past tours.
Each chorus level has a dress uniform and a casual uniform which are purchased by singers' families.
"Transcendent. I love everything about it. The earnestness and sincerity of the effort. The compassion of the leaders and their care for the girls, not just the performance. It's a beautiful project. The epitome of community.”
“The PGC has provided the absolute best education for our girls. It is truly one of the best chorus groups on the Peninsula. The musicianship education makes our commitment to this group an easy addendum to our girls’ overall education.”
"Our daughter has been in PGC for 6 years and loves it. She was always a girl who loved to sing, but she has become a singer thanks to PGC. . . Confidence born of accomplishment is a gift you can give your girl by signing her up for PGC!”
"The vocal and musical education I received with PGC is unparalleled. PGC offers a musical, social and educational experience unlike any other and girls of all ages and backgrounds can benefit from its programs.”
"PGC is amazing! I have sung so many different styles of music in all sorts of different languages over my many years in PGC, from pieces in Hawaiian and Hindi to Mozart. I always loved to sing, but PGC has fostered that joy and taught me great technique and musicianship at the same time. PGC is a great community and a wonderful place to grow.”
"PGC is what continues to help me through the week. It helps me take my mind off of things that are stressing me out like homework or high school applications. Singing with PGC makes me feel happy”.
